From A previous post: Owner Michiko is a very unique woman with much history and many accomplishments behind her. She was born and raised in Tokyo. Since the age of 3 she began studying Ballet, Japanese Traditional Dance, and Piano. Her Grandma was Ms. Japan so her father pushed her very hard to follow those steps. As well, she became a popular actress. She had key parts in many big screen movies and about 200 made for TV programs in Japan. She was crowned Ms. Tokyo at the age of 19. But, Ballet has always been her passion.
Anyone interested in learning more can call at (425) 837-0962 hm, (425) 442- 3226 Michiko’s cell.

Have you been waiting for World Pies to open? Wait no more. It is now open at the Starpoint south building in IH. 5:00pm to 10:00pm.

We tried it out and believe it will be a huge success. Their pizza will be hard to resist. To see more info at IssaquahUndressed.com:

It is too late to be the first customer of 9 Espresso, but not too late to join the smiles. I am heading over there to try out the Hot Chocolate.

Now we just need their World Pies Pizza to open.

Dan says February 4th is the planned open date for Le Chic Pet, but as I write this the trucks are unloading merchandise. This store will carry nutritious pet food and will have a self serve dog wash and grooming spa. A cool idea.
Le Chic Pet is located under Starpoint South at 25th and Park Drive
Their website address is http://lechicpet.com

With permission I share with you a portion of an email from the owners of the new studio.
Michiko and I are excited about the studio and hope it will be a success. Michiko is a very unique woman with much history and many accomplishments behind her. She left behind the movie and pageantry businesses to focus on Ballet. She owned a Ballet Studio in Tokyo as well as Bremerton before meeting me and moving her business to The Highlands.
We are proud and excited to become a member of the community at The Highlands. Thank-you for assisting MK Ballet by mentioning us in your blogs and publications about The Highlands and Issaquah happenings. We expect to open April 1st of this year. Please respond with any questions or comments you may have about our business.

There is the front door folks, on the corner of Park Drive and 25th Ave NE.
I can hardly wait. Pizza in the Highlands. Gourmet Pizza even. With good luck, no serious snow between here and Denver as the last cabinets will arrive in time for Nine Bar Espresso to open before the end of the month. Nine bar is training its staff next week, as Matt Snook says, “in the fine art of bringing back the art, presentation, and flavor of coffee. For me, I am interested in the three kinds of bread and 15 flavors of toppings Nine Bar will be offering for breakfast toast. They better have hot chocolate.
More important is the two weeks later opening of their World Pies. This is a sit down restaurant with Pizza that has made me gain 5 pounds just imagining as Matt describes. The Pizza oven is from Italy and looks exactly like the one’s I saw in Rome and Venice, now that was Pizza baby.

Yep, it was a little birdy. I was standing where I got lucky and heard the birdy say that Port Blakely is signing a deal that will bring a 17 theator Cinema to Issaquah Highlands. It seems the main detail to work out is whether to put it on the property west of Caffe Ladro or the next property west. That is the kind of information I want to hear. Keep talking little birdy. Or an email will do. larrykcragun(at)yahoo.com

Perhaps you have noticed the increase in activity east of Highlands Drive. Our Issaquah mall has been approved and things are heating up. Weather you are for it or against it, it is coming. If you live in Issaquah Highlands you have been aware of this and are probably looking forward to it. It is part of the reason a lot of us moved here, the convenience of and skillful integration of businesses, shopping, parks and homes of all types and prices.
